I know you shouldn't have favorites but its hard not to. Especially when you have a doe so correct and packing such a fantastic udder and to top all that off, a personality that shines. She is so sweet and laid back. She's my baby. I do love my Anna.

Anna has kidded with twin bucks and a single buck for us and I was beginning to think a doeling from her was impossible but she finally blessed me with the little sweetheart doeling I've been dreaming of. Annabelle is retained and if she freshens anything like her dam she's a permanent fixture too.

Anna is one of two of my senior does, she and Zee are both quickly approaching 10 years old. Anna has long established herself in my herd as a permanent member. She will stay as a pet when the time comes that either she or I decide she shouldn't breed anymore.

Arwen is here! She's a total sweetheart and a beauty too. I cannot wait to get to know her more. The thing that drew me to Arwen right away was that udder! Take a look at the height and width she sports. Large teats as well. I am anxious to see her freshen here. At this point she's planned on her next heat to be bred to Ericson for an early-mid March kidding. I plan to retain a doeling. This breeding will be a linebreeding on Woodhaven Farms Levi Legend but from what I've seen of his daughters, I feel confident this will only increase the potential for the kids. We are thrilled to have Arwen in our herd and look forward to seeing her freshen here in the Spring. Thank you Sandie for letting Arwen move to Sweet Gum Minis!

SGM R Chamber of Secrets

Secrets' 3rd freshening 1 week fresh 12 hours of milk.

Secrets is another lovely doe. Her sire Rue, has produced very nice udders on his daughters. Secrets is a refined doe with an uphill stance, sharp shoulders, rear angulation, a long dairy neck and a lot of dairy character. Her udder is already better than her dam's in appearance and attachments to the body. There's no wiggle in this udder when she's running about! Secrets isn't our friendliest doe, but she does come up for treats and is already doing very well on the milk stand. She stands quiet and is putting the milk in the pail! I am anxious to compare results with her milking to our other milkers.

Secrets' udder is just beautiful. Teats are large and easy to milk, capacity is great and so are her attachments. Her foreudder is smooth and well blended. Her medial is a little less defined than her first freshening, but the longer her lactation progresses the more defined it becomes. Check out her udder below. I've decided to keep Secrets another year because of how she's surpassed my expectations. I have not kept a daughter from her two kiddings and do not want to lose this line so I will keep a daughter next year and most likely sell Secrets then.
Secrets is planned to Ericson for a Spring 2011 kidding. She has really matured into a stunning doe and I think this crossing will be a very nice one. I will most likely sell Secrets after retaining a doeling this year. Its time for her to move on I feel.

Raven the day before kidding her single doeling..

Raven is flighty just like her two siblings. She's a lovely little doe with a level topline, long body and nice shoulders. I think she will be a beautiful doe. Her dam freshened this year with a much nicer udder. She was lovely to begin with but she really gained the capacity and height in the rear that we hoped for while maintaining the medial ligament as well. She could use larger teats so we're going to hope they're produced in Raven.

Though this doeling detests even the thought of being handled, she is still too nice to pass up. Her dam freshened with a nice round udder this year just lacking in the teat size that I require to continue in my herd. I have seen nice teats so far on Raven so we will wait and see. Raven is extremely correct and one of the nicest kids to watch move this year. I am anxious to see her as a yearling and her udder.
