Gwen has matured into a gorgeous doe. She was always a precious sweet little bottle baby doeling but she's really held her own as a yearling. She freshened with a massively capacious udder with large, easy to milk teats but also very soft dairy texture. Gwen has one of the longest and flattest foreudders I've seen. She blends beautifully into her belly. She also has a lot of height and width in he rear udder. What she seemed to lack in her first freshening was correct teat placement. She could use more centrally placed teats but otherwise I can't complain. She more than surpassed my expectations.
     Gwen is planned to J-Nels SQ River Birch for a 2011 kidding. I had hoped to kid her out for the Fall of 2010 but never got around to watching her for her heat cycles. So it looks like she'll be held over till the Spring for a kidding. She'll be one of the two bred to River for 2011. He was used really heavily in the last two years so I have decided to prove a few of our other boys but really want to see the results of this crossing. I've been extremely pleased with my River kids and feel this will be one heck of a breeding.
