TMGR Registered, MDGA Pending This beautiful doeling is one of our new Mini-Mancha does. She is not only flashy and beautiful, she's loaded on her pedigree. Check out her pedigree below with all the lovely Rosasharn for the Nigerian Dwarf in her and the Hoof & Horn, Altrece and Glen-Mythos for the Lamancha. She's definitely carrying some good genetics behind her. I am anxious to get to know her and begin our mini program in full swing. This doeling is a great start and we are thrilled to have her!
A Mini-Mancha is
a miniature Lamancha. To create miniature dairy goats you cross a full
sized breed such as a Lamancha, Nubian, Saanen, Alpine, Toggenburg etc
to a purebred Nigerian Dwarf. The kids produced are considered F1 (First
generation). So in this case they are F1 or First generation
Mini-Manchas. This is an experimental breed for at least 3 generations
where they can then be submitted for 'American' registration. The goat
most meet the breed standard first and be under the height limit which
is 27" for does and 29" for bucks in Mini-Manchas. The reason for
breeding miniatures is to increase milk production in a slightly smaller
goat than the full sized breeds. I really enjoyed the Lamanchas I had
but the size is a bit daunting and not for our small farm. Therefore
minis are perfect for us. I am looking forward to starting our
Mini-Mancha program. If you have any questions just
email me. |
